Yellowstone National Park Snowmobiling Travel Tips

  • Right now, to the only way to snowmobile in Yellowstone is with a guide. Visit the National Park Service’s website to see a list of approved guides who offer trips like those below. Yellowstone’s concessionaire rents snowmobiles and guides its own trips from Mammoth.
  • See winter geyser steam on a two-day trip with Yellowstone Snowmobile Tours in Moran that explores the South Loop of the park, including the geyser basins between Madison and Old Faithful.
  • Ace Snowmobile Tours in West Yellowstone leads single-day trips to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. It’s a 100-mile ride to see the majestic Upper and Lower falls, unfazed by snow and ice.
  • Tour the wildlife hub of Lamar Valley with See Yellowstone tours from West Yellowstone. This area is also tops for wolf populations in the park, and the valley is never more picturesque than it is in winter.

  • We are planning a visit to Yellow Stone National Park during January 2010. Our flight arrives at Cody-Yellow Stone Regional Airport at 11 o' clock in the evening. We are staying at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel. Can you please tell me if there are transport available from the airport to the Hotel and how far is the Hotel from the Airport. This is our first visit to the Park and I am not keen to rent a car and drive ourselves to the park at that time of night and on roads that I do not know.
