Jackson Snowmobiling Travel Tips

  • At the Togwotee Pass, east of the Moran Junction on Highway 26/287, countless miles of snowmobile trails extend through a high forest with views of the Tetons and Gros Ventre Range, joining up with the Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail.
  • Head south from Jackson toward Hoback Junction, then south on Highway 191/189 to reach Granite Creek Road, where snowmobilers have access to National Forest roads and trails, as well as to a hot spring.
  • Check out the high red cliffs near Slide Lake at the end of the Gros Ventre River Road. More than 70 miles of groomed trails can be accessed in this wildlife-rich region, including the Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail.
  • A number of outfitters, including Jackson Hole Snowmobile Tours, lead multi-day, lodge-to-lodge snowmobile excursions from Jackson along the Continental Divide trail system.

  • My spouse and I would like to spend 3-4 days doing day hikes in the Grand Teton/Jackson area, then come back in the evening to a pleasant, peaceful, lodging that is couples-friendly (our nest has just emptied, so we'd like a break from the frenetic "family vacation" crowd). We would be arriving the week after Labor Day. Any suggestions on hiking and lodging?
