Arches National Park Camping Travel Tips

  • Camping within Arches National Park is limited to Devils Garden Campground, the only developed site in the park. There are 52 sites in the campground. Thirty of the sites can be reserved in advance. The remaining sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning each day at 7:30 a.m. at the visitor center.
  • Two group sites are also available at the Devils Garden Campground. The Juniper Basin campsite can accommodate up to 55 people, and the Canyon Wren campsite fits up to 35. No RVs or trailers are permitted in the group sites.
  • Backcountry camping is allowed by permit, which is obtained only at the visitor center. In Arches, there are no designated backcountry campsites. No fires are allowed, and you must carry in your own water and practice low-impact camping techniques.
  • Up the Creek Campground is open March through Mid-November. It is located one block from Main Street in Moab, but is surrounded by trees and is near a small stream. You must walk in to this small, tent-only campground from a designated parking area, making it a peaceful camp experience. It's close to the Slickrock Bike Trail.
  • Located a mere two miles from Arches National Park is the Moab Valley RV Resort complete with tent, RV and cabin sites, and full facilities. Views from surrounding rock formations are abundant.

Camping Overview: Arches National Park
