Moab Travel Tips

Corona Arch and Bowtie Arch Trail takes you to a pair of large but very different arches in about three miles roundtrip—a great day hike.
For mountain biking, dozens of challenging trails traverse astonishing canyon landscapes near Moab. Conditions are best in spring (mid-March to late May) and fall (mid-Sept. to late Oct.). In summer, aim to start at the crack of dawn and drink lots of water.
Slot canyons in the Moab area tend to be short and challenging. Many can be done on a half-day trip.
Fisher Towers Trail, 4.4 miles roundtrip, gives you a close-up look at spires of dark-red sandstone that soar as high as 900 feet, and then ends at a viewpoint. The trailhead is 25 miles northeast of Moab off UT 128.
Journey back 150 million years to Jurassic time on the Mill Canyon Dinosaur Trail. Drive 15 miles northwest on US 191 to just past Milepost 141, then turn left across railroad tracks, and go two miles on a dirt road.
