Antelope Island State Park Parks and Outdoors Travel Tips

Antelope Island is famous for its herd of bison, but there are also plenty of bird species to see because of the preserved habitat. Some birds in the area include the American white pelican, short-eared owl, lark sparrows, bald eagle, and peregrine falcons.
There is only one official campground at Antelope Island State Park, located on the northwest shore. This is a primitive area and has no facilities; however, approximately a half-mile away at the nearby day-use area, hot showers, water, and toilets are available.
Willard Bay State Park, located north of Antelope Island State Park near Ogden, offers more camping options. Willow Campground is a nice option for tent camping, while the Cottonwood Campground offers full hook-ups for your RV. There are also group campsites that require advance reservations, including the popular Eagle Group Camp that can accommodate up to 125 people and the Pelican Group Camp that can accommodate up to 200 people.
