Grand Turk Snorkeling Travel Tips

  • Take a day trip to uninhabited Gibbs Cay. This popular spot boasts a beautiful white-sand beach and shallow water, where snorkelers can get up close with a crowd of docile southern stingrays. Trips cost around $60 per person and include drinks and a beach barbecue.
  • Good snorkeling can be found right off many of Grand Turk's beaches. Snorkelers can also join dive boats out to the edge of the reef, where they can explore the shallow sections along the top of the wall.
  • Grand Turk's famously clear water, with visibility of 150 feet or more, means the shallow reefs are positively bathed in light. So snorkelers will have no problem spotting all the denizens of the reef, including sea turtles, eagle rays, and rare Nassau grouper.
