Cumberland Bay State Park

Located on the north shore of Lake Champlain, this wonderful fishing, camping and picnicking park is available from early May through early October. The park offers beautiful scenery, a large swimming beach and a 200-site campground. The park is used in winter by cross-country skiers.

Cumberland Bay State Park, on the north shore of Lake Champlain, is a very popular day use area because of its large natural sand beach and accessible picnic grounds with tables and grills. Day use and overnight amenities are offered seasonally with cross-country skiing permitted in winter. Play fields and a children's playground are popular attractions.

Recreation
Visitors to Cumberland Bay can enjoy a swimming beach, a children's playground, play fields, picnic area, recreation programs and a campground with showers. The majority of the amenities are handicapped accessible including the campground and picnic area. The park is open from early May until early October. Cross-country skiers may have winter access.

Located in eastern New York along the shores of Lake Champlain in Cumberland Bay, this state park is reached via Interstate 87 to SR 314.

Climate
The Cumberland Bay area has a varied climate with average January temperatures ranging from below 14 degrees reaching to 22 degrees Fahrenheit (below -10 to -6 degrees Celsius). Summer temperatures average between 72 degrees and below 68 degrees Fahrenheit (22 to below 20 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from less than 36 to 40 inches of rain and snowmelt.
