Phuket Scuba Diving Travel Tips

The scuba diving high season in Phuket is November through May, when rain and wind are at a minimum and sunshine at a maximum. Be sure to book your dive trips early during this time period.
Phuket is one of the world's major dive destinations, not so much for the diving in the immediate area, but for Phuket's proximity to island groups like Similan, Surin, Phi Phi, and the Andamans, all of which have excellent diving. A host of scuba operators in Phuket can get you aboard day-long to week-long vessels.
With some many choices, divers can easily overlook impressive Koh Pu (Crab Island) , a small uninhabited islet located between Kata and Karon beaches. It harbors a wide selection of hard corals, turtles, octopi, stingrays, and dramatic granite boulders.
