  • Winds are strong year-round in St. Lucia, but tend to weaken during the months of August through November.
  • Kiteboarders looking for a challenge should head to Vieux Fort on the southeastern coast of St. Lucia, the most popular spot for advanced and intermediate kitesurfers, where northeast prevailing winds from 15 to 25 knots are prevalent from November through June.
  • St. Lucia is home to many fine kiteboarding centers, the longest established being The Reef Kite & Surf at Anse de Sables Beach in Vieux Fort. Equipment packages start at just $70 a week, and include the use of kayaks and storage facilities.
