  • Stay within designated zones spring through fall at Myrtle's main surfing beaches: North Myrtle, Myrtle, and Surfside.
  • Break from boarding to explore offshore wrecks and tropical fish. Coastal Scuba and Nu Horizons Dive and Travel offer certification, lessons, dive charters, and more.
  • Surf (legally) at 29th Avenue South (most other spots in Myrtle are restricted between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., depending on the time of year).
  • Brave Barracuda Alley, the 63-foot deep artificial reef created by a platoon of armored personnel carriers.

Myrtle Beach Overview

One of the top vacation destinations along the East Coast, the Myrtle Beach/Grand Strand area stretches south from the South Carolina state line at Little River to Georgetown. It's 98 miles north of Charleston but a world away in ambience.
