Cape Town Scuba Diving Travel Tips

Cape Town is a diving Mecca, due to the convergence of warm currents from the Indian Ocean with cold currents from the Atlantic Ocean. The result is a plethora of marine life and a diverse array of diving options, something for every season or condition.
Summer is better for diving on the Atlantic side of the cape, in its kelp forests, although the water is still chilly. Winter is better for diving in the relatively warmer Indian Ocean, with its hard and soft corals.
Divers from around the world use Cape Town as a base for the year-round cage diving at Shark Alley located up the coast. Great Whites up to 18 feet long feast on a smorgasbord of seals in the channel between Seal and Dyer islands.

Don't just hang out at the Waterfront Mall. the prices are super expensive. So go out in the city and hang out where the locals hang out. The people are super friendly so you should be able to find someone to ask... you'll end up saving hundreds and hundreds of dollars.
