I will be traveling from Cusco to Puno by train this October. Does Peru Rail still provide backpacker services and what days of the week are the services offered? Also, can you suggest a low budget hotel or a hostel in Puno which is clean and safe and easy to find from the train station? Hopefully it can provide shared transportation services to Juliaca airport.
