  • Sample the grandeur brought by oil money at the Philbrook Museum of Art, once the estate of Tulsan oil baron Waite Phillips and today rated one of the top 50 art museums in the country.
  • Eat funnel cakes under the watchful gaze of the 76-foot-tall Golden Driller statue at the Tulsa State Fairgrounds. The fair draws more than one million people in a ten-day span each September.
  • Speaking of funnels, be wary of outdoor activities in early spring and summer, as tornados are a distinct possibility. A tornado-warning air horn sounds in town if one is spotted.
