  • Immerse yourself in the Kiwi’s love of the sea at the National Maritime Museum, covering 1,000 years of sailing history including the country’s win of the America’s Cup.
  • Be sure to get aboard a yacht. Auckland (the “City of Sails") was the site of two America’s Cup races, and numerous vessels from tall ships to racing yachts can take you out into the gorgeous harbor.
  • Peruse the renovated Viaduct Harbour, site of the America’s Cup challenges, home to stunning mega-yachts, and a stopover point for the epic Volvo Ocean Race.
  • All kinds of craft from tugboats to multi-hulls hit the waves for the popular Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta on the last Monday in January.
