  • Get a bird's-eye view of the lake and surrounding hillsides from a hot-air balloon with A Beautiful Balloon tours on Assembly Point Road.
  • Parasail with any of the outfits operating along the boardwalk.
  • Hear the history of the French and Indian War at Fort William Henry, made famous by James Fenimore Cooper's Last of the Mohicans (and the Daniel Day Lewis movie some 166 years later). Unlike either of those tales, the information at the fort's museum is actually true.
  • Duck under the largest marble cave entrance in the East at the Natural Stone Bridge and Caves. Self-guided tours cost $13 and head through a lighted cave system.
