Learn the secret schedule of taxis. When taxi drivers change shifts around 4 or 5 p.m. and 4 or 5 a.m., it can be extremely difficult to grab a cab. They may simply stop and ask you where you’re going to see if you’re going their way. If you’re not, they may decline to take you. Traveling to New York for christmas with my family. I have a 14 month old that will need a car seat, or some type of safe transportation. What is recommended for getting around the city? Also from the airport to the hotel, how do you transport your children safely? Thanks

We are visiting NYC for the first time the first weekend of November. Three of the four of us are Volunteer Firefighters. We would like to visit the fire departments (of course), Statue of Liberty, Time Square and other sights. What is the best form of transportation and where should we start? Time and money will be limited. Thanks for any help you may provide.
