Winnisquam Parks and Outdoors Travel Tips

  • Located in the New Hampshire lakes region, this lake is somewhat overshadowed by Lake Winnipesaukee, its bigger cousin next door. It is best known for smallmouth bass as well as rainbow and lake trout.
  • Lake Winnisquam historically produces some of the biggest lake trout in the region. They are fished in the warm season and also during winter, when ice fishing is popular.
  • Fish the Lake Winnisquam outlet from the banks at Lochmere for rainbow trout and salmon. Boaters troll for the rainbows and landlocked salmon.
  • Other species to fish for include eel, cusk, fallfish, and white perch. Guides are available year-round on this lake.
