  • Glacier's lakes are stunning; perfectly clear and enormous by mountain lake standards. Lake McDonald is ten miles long and more than a mile wide.
  • Reservations are accepted up to five months in advance at two major campgrounds: Fish Creek and St. Mary. All other sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Bring a wetsuit. Glacier's lakes are mostly snowmelt, so the water is very cold, even in summer.

  • My sister (76) and I (66) have a nephew living in Calgary. We plan to go there and visit. We want to visit Glacier Park but it has to be an easy sightseeing tour. Is there a train, bus, or other vehicle that would take us on a sightseeing tour? Which is the warmest month to come and visit? We were thinking about August. Thank you for the upcoming email.
