Bozeman Travel Tips

  • See one of the largest collections of dinosaur fossils at the Museum of the Rockies on Kagy Boulevard. While there, you might see famed Montana State University paleontologist Jack Horner, inspiration for the Dr. Alan Grant character in Jurassic Park.
  • Drive 90 miles south to the northern entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Go swimming in the hot-springs-warmed Gardner River just inside the boundary.
  • Skiers and boarders should hit Bridger Bowl and its legendary Bridger Ridge, where pioneering extreme skiers like Doug Coombs and Scot Schmidt got their start. The resort is 20 minutes outside of Bozeman up Bridger Canyon.
  • Anglers salivate over the blue-ribbon trout streams surrounding the Gallatin and Madison rivers. The Gallatin River Lodge, south of town, offers guided fly-fishing trips, fine dining, and luxury accommodations.
