Duluth Travel Tips

Bundle up in winter (and sometimes summer, too). Duluth calls itself the "Air-Conditioned City" due to Lake Superior's cooling abilities. January temperatures average a high (yes, high) of 16 degrees.
Perhaps the best ski hill between New York and Colorado, Lutsen Mountains, opened The Plunge chairlift in 2008, accessing the steepest run in the Midwest.
Take a lunch or dinner cruise aboard the Vista Fleet. Two-hour cruises tour Lake Superior and leave from scenic Duluth Harbor.
Travel the canine way with Epic Sled Dog Adventures. If you want, they'll even let you drive the sled.
Break out the skinny skis for the Snowflake Nordic Ski Center, founded by 1952 Olympian George Hovland. Nine miles of track wind through the frozen northern Minnesota woods. Rentals and instruction available.
