  • Buy a tour from a boatman's collective–two-hour trips (US$20 per person) are available at the main town pier. Local dive shops offer slightly more expensive tours.
  • Snorkel in the late morning when the sun is high and afternoon winds are tame.
  • Don't swim from the shore to the reef–though it's a relatively short distance, the channel is used by fishing boats, making it unsafe for snorkelers.
