Puerto Vallarta Gay and Lesbian Travel Tips

There are plenty of beaches to choose from. If the scene at Blue Chairs is simply too much, don’t worry: More than 26 miles of beaches line the Bay of Banderas. If you’re looking for a gay nude beach, head to the lesser-known beach 12 miles south of town in front of the remote LGBT guesthouse Paco's Paradise.
Avoid traveling here in September. Although Puerto Vallarta is always warm, the humidity, rain and temperatures are worst during September.
Join gay excursions. No need to be packed in with straight tourists when going on excursions: Blue Chairs Beach Resort (right on the beach) arranges LGBT boat trips, horseback jungle tours, and scuba trips.

Located in the Pacific state of Jalisco, sandwiched between mountains and a gorgeous bay, Puerto Vallarta attracts not only a swath of gay and lesbian American and European travelers, but also its fair share of queer Mexicans as well. Puerto Vallarta now has over a dozen LGBT hotels and guesthouses, a selection of gay bars and clubs, a world famous gay beach (Blue Chairs and its neighbor, Green Chairs), gay boat trips, and lots of fine dining to boot. Most of the gay and lesbian infrastructure is in the Zona Romantica (also called the South Side). This will be my third trip to Puerto Vallarta and while there we have taken snorkeling tours to Los Arcos. We enjoy this tour and will do it again this visit but we are wondering if there is any place to snorkel off the beach in PV. My husband is an experienced snorkeler, however I am new to it and I need more practice in shallow water off the beach. Any information you could share would be appreciated. Thank you. Sue Alley
