Nantucket Travel Tips

  • Leave your car behind at the ferry in Woods Hole. You won't need it, as an abundance of taxis can take you around the small island. Private cars are so rare here, in fact, that there's not a single traffic light on the island.
  • Walk out to any of the island's famed lighthouses. The largest, the Great Point Light, sits at the end of Sandy Point and has been rebuilt three times since the original one went up in 1784.
  • Take a walk down Coatue, a long stretch of barrier beach with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and Nantucket Harbor on the other.
  • Bring your clubs for a unique golf outing. The island's three golf courses all have different characters, but each one faces the challenge of winds blowing in off the Atlantic.

  • hello i am going to nantucket for a weekend with my boyfriend and some couples and have never been whats someting i shouldnt miss out on seeing there. and great places to go to while visiting. i dont want to go and not see what nantucket has to offer so just looking for ideas to keep it interesting. thanks
