  • Follow the six-mile bike path from Oak Bluffs to Edgartown. You'll be riding along the water virtually the whole way, so plan extra time for a refreshing swim.
  • Visit the island off season, in May or October, when the weather is often mild and the crowds have cleared out.
  • The strenuous bike ride from Chilmark to Aquinnah offers some of the best views on the island, including various bodies of water, including ponds, inlets, and ocean.
  • Rent a kayak, canoe, or small sailboat from one of the many outfitters on the island and get a different perspective from the water.
