Boston Gay and Lesbian Travel Tips

  • Keep your eyes peeled for plaques. Boston excels at showcasing its history, and there seems to be a historic plaque on every other building. It's like a free tour and more interesting than any textbook.
  • Watch out for the school calendar. Boston hotel rooms can be hard to come by during graduation in early summer or orientation in late summer. Summer isn't the most expensive season, though: The leaf peepers use Boston as a base, bringing up hotel rates during fall foliage season.
  • Take the ferry to Ptown. While you can fly or drive to Provincetown, the high-speed ferry from Boston is a convenient way to get to this popular gay travel destination.

Gay and Lesbian Travel Overview: Boston, Massachusetts

Boston is a unique city in many ways, steeped in American history and characterized by an almost British reserve among residents. • Hi. We are planning a girls trip to Boston. We are also wanting to go and spend a couple of days in Martha's Vineyard and visit surrounding areas. I am needing to know what the average weather is like the first of Novemeber. Also, what is the best time to visit -- weather wise, that is not too hot nor too cold? Plus, any suggestions on what towns and attractions (from Boston to M.V., etc.) we should visit and do would be greatly appreciated. We are planning a 7 day trip, if that helps with ideas. :)
