Owned and operated by the Koehler family since 1970, this comfortable, homey place features a vintage sign with the mug of a grinning bunny, a designated historic landmark that's served as Steamboat's welcome mat for more than a half-century. The motel's original 10 rooms (and the sign) were built in 1952, with additional units added through 1991, some of which overlook the Yampa River. Completely remodeled in the mid-1990s, all rooms are clean and comfortable. Even the smallest rooms (which, at 224 sq. ft., are definitely tiny) have attractive cherry furnishings. The larger rooms are a more-than-comfortable 425 square feet. The motel is conveniently located on the east end of the downtown shopping district, with the river behind, Yampa River Park next door, and the hot springs pool across the street (discount passes are available), and on the local free shuttle bus route. All rooms have a microwave and refrigerator; some have private balconies. A good bargain for families

Our location is considered one of the premier locations in Steamboat. We are loacated in Main Town directly across from the Hot Springs Pool and next door to Yampa River Park. We are within walking distance to all the downtown shops and restaurants. The bus service is free and stops at our driveway every 20 minutes. We are approx. 2 miles from the ski area. The rooms with queen bed or 2 double beds are located on the ground level of the main building and are 225 square feet in size. The amenities include: refrigerators, coffee makers, hair dryers, dataport phones and remote control TV on extended service cable. Our luxury rooms have 2 queen beds, or a king bed and a sofa bed, or 2 queens and 2 twins. These rooms are 432 square feet in size and are very comparable to or even better than a suite.
