Perched high atop the ski mountain of Mont-Gabriel and looking like the rambling log "cottages" of the turn-of-the-20th-century wealthy, this desirable, kid-friendly resort is only 45 minutes from Montréal's Trudeau Airport. Set on a 480-hectare (1,186-acre) forest estate, the complex features golf and tennis programs in summer and ski and spa packages in winter. The spacious rooms in the Tyrol section are the most desirable and modern, many with views of the surrounding hills. All were renovated in 2006. Those called Rustique are constructed of logs and have views of either the pool or the mountains. The rooms in the Marquise section were scheduled to be updated in fall 2007. Some units have fireplaces and/or whirlpool tubs. The hotel is a ski-in?ski-out facility, with 18 ski runs all lit for night skiing. Dogsledding and snowmobiling are also available in season.
