Well designed and unpretentious, with three stars from the local tourist authorities, this is one of Catania's most modern hotels. In 2002, after a well-planned reconfiguration by celebrity architect Romeo Francesco, the place was reincarnated as a member of the Best Western hotel chain. The blue-floored lobby's best features include a tactful, hard-working staff and dramatic murals inspired by the great masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance. Guest rooms are predictably angular, simple, and uncomplicated, with big windows and bathrooms with tub/shower combinations.
