Less stylish and a bit more dowdy than some of the five-star palace hotels that lie within a 3-minute drive along the coast, this solidly reliable four-star choice offers less expensive rates than those around it. Originally built in 1968 next to a gravel beach, and renovated a few times since, it resembles a private bougainvillea-draped villa. Guest rooms are unpretentious, reminiscent of a simple beachfront hotel in the Caribbean.
