With its potted palms, distressed tortoise-shell wallpaper, and brass-framed mirrors, this modern high-rise could be in the pages of Architectural Digest. It's one of the most glamorous hotels in the Swiss Alps. The hotel looks down over Arosa from a hillside position that emphasizes its modern, rectangular design. No attempts were made to duplicate traditional chalet architecture, and the interior is richly outfitted with some of the most opulent accessories in Arosa. The spacious rooms are handsomely decorated and beautifully kept. Each week there are two soirées élégantes, for which evening dress is compulsory. The hotel opens every year around the first of December, with Arosa's traditional ski weeks, and continues until early April.
