In the heart of Greenville's entertainment and commercial district, this eight-story hotel caters to a predominantly business clientele and is the prime choice in town; we prefer it to the Hilton . Patrons enter through a parklike setting created in the eight-story atrium lobby with lush plants and trees, lampposts, and a cascading waterfall. Rooms are comfortably furnished with a rather standardized decor. All units contain well-kept bathrooms with shower-tub combinations. Several are equipped with workstations, fax machines, and personal extras, including a printer and a copier on the same floor. The most-desired accommodation is the Brooks Suite, featuring such luxuries as a whirlpool with stereo system, walk-in wet bar, grand piano, and full entertainment center. For dining and entertainment, the Provencia restaurant offers Italian cuisine. A recent addition is the Commons Bar, a cigar lounge with piano music, open until 1am.
