  • Get your drinks to go on the River Street waterfront—the area has no open container laws for pedestrians, and bars serve drinks in plastic cups. Street performers and shops offer plenty of distractions, as do the passing ships.
  • Gawk at Southern gentility, gothic-style, at the Mercer Williams House Museum. Built in 1871, the former home is most famous for its portrayal in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
  • You won't get any cookies, but the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace, home to the founder of the Girl Scouts of America, is worth the hour-long tour nonetheless.
  • Huck a disc at the High Tide Ultimate Frisbee tournament that rolls through outlying Jekyll Island every March. One of the largest such tournaments in the country, it attracts top teams as well as spring-breaking collegiate types.
  • Take a ghost tour in "America's Most Haunted City," even if you normally save those kind of things for Halloween.
