Fiji Scuba Diving Travel Tips

  • Fiji is famous among scuba divers as the "Soft Coral Capital of the World.” The soft corals of the Great White Wall and its Rainbow Reef are the most renowned, located in the Somosomo Strait between Vanua Levu and Taveuni in the north.
  • One popular dive site not to miss is The Pinnacle, a coral head rising 60 feet from the lagoon floor, found in the Mamanuca Islands off Nadi on Viti Nevu.
  • For the best manta ray viewing, head to the Great Astrolabe Reef on Kadavu Island. Its steep outside walls are also festooned with both soft and hard corals.
  • The magnificent barrier reef that surrounds the 110-acre island of Namenalala is home to the Namena Marine Protected Reserve, one of Fiji's most pristine diving and snorkeling reef ecosystems.
