Laura Tiebert BiographyBiography
Laura Tiebert is a freelance writer whose travels have taken her from the frozen tundra of Dawson City in Yukon Territory to the wide beaches of Muscat, Oman. A native Midwesterner, she lived in New York City for years before returning to Chicago. Today, she stays a bit closer to home in Evanston, Illinois, where she lives with her husband and two young children. Laura is the author of Frommer's Chicago with Kids, Chicago for Dummies, and the forthcoming Frommer's Chicago Day by Day. She has ghostwritten for supermodels, blues musicians, and doctors in eight "... for Dummies" books, including Etiquette for Dummies, Beauty Secrets for Dummies, Blues for Dummies, Living Longer for Dummies, and Back Pain Remedies for Dummies. Back in her more adventurous (pre-kids) days, Laura traveled around the world and interviewed fascinating characters. For Salon.com, she spent weeks in remote areas of Alaska covering a long-distance dogsled race, and became friends with the author of the world's longest diary, both of which were published as feature stories.
