  • The nearly 20 miles of coral reef offshore from Punta Cana is mostly shallow, making it perfect for beginner divers.
  • Most resorts offer intro to scuba classes starting off in the hotel’s pool. Inquire about costs, since these classes are usually not included in the all-inclusive resort price.
  • Some resorts offer day trips to deeper and more challenging reefs off Isla Soana (with its tall vertical coral wall) and Isla Catalina (with its wreck dives) for more experienced divers.

Like a crown jewel on the eastern-most tip of the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana is one of the best stretches of sand (nearly 20 miles) and adjoining coral reef in the Caribbean.   • Which location I should go for vacation in Punta Cana with my child? This is my first time going to Punta Cana. I would like you know which location, best 5 star hotel/resort you would recommend. I am travelling with my friend and my son who is 10yrs. We will stay for one week Aug 16 to 23. And looking for all inclusive. Please advise. Thanks.
