Seeking advice on whether to rent a car in Venice to drive down the Dalmatian coast, or go by train or ferry to Croatia and then rent a vehicle. We'd prefer to do the entire trip by car but have heard there are a lot of car rental insurance problems getting through Slovenia and into Croatia. Time period is Aug 27-Sept. 5 if that makes a difference.
