  • Brunch at the Dushanbe Teahouse, an authentic, rebuilt restaurant sent over piece by piece from Boulder's sister city in Tajikistan. A breakfast and lunch menu features many organic foods as well as the deepest tea list in the region.
  • Hike to the top of the Flatirons—Boulder's marquee mountain peaks—from the trailhead at Chautauqua Park off of Baseline Road.
  • Rent tubes and put in at Boulder Creek on Canyon Road. Mild rapids meander right through town and are a favorite of locals and tourists alike in the summer.
  • Cast your fly into any of the area's gold-medal fly-fishing streams. South Boulder Creek has access points just outside of town, while other favorites like St. Vrain Creek and Big Thompson River require a drive. Check out Rocky Mountain Anglers on Arapahoe Avenue for beta and gear.
  • Cyclists can test their lungs and legs on the iron steed with a ride over Lee Hill Loop in north Boulder. The 2.9-mile ride climbs over 700 feet, with grades reaching a gut-checking 12 percent.
  • Wake up your senses in the Peppermint Room on a tour of the Celestial Seasonings Tea Factory in north Boulder.
