Breckenridge Travel Tips

  • Park in the North lot, where a newly installed gondola will whisk you up to the Peak 8 base area.
  • Ski by number: Breck is laid out according to the four summits of the Ten Mile Range it sits beneath. Hit Peak 10 for some of the fastest, most consistent steeps in Summit County; Peak 9 for a little of everything; Peak 8 for greens and a marquee terrain park down low and high-alpine bowl skiing up high; and Peak 7 for a mellower area away from the crowds.
  • Make The Maggie on Peak 9 your base camp. Not only is it just steps from the Quicksilver Chairlift, it also has plenty of tables and serves up the best wings in town.
  • Release your inner Viking during January's Ullr Fest, a nonstop party complete with parades, costumes, and plenty of horned helmets.
  • Check your tickets or pass to see if you're eligible to use days at Breckenridge Resort's other nearby hills like Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Beaver Creek, and, of course, Vail.
  • Go out. Unlike some ski towns, Breckenridge has an endless amount of nightlife, from pizza at Fatty J's to the wild dance floor at Salt Creek Saloon.

Breckenridge and Summit County Travel Guide

Breckenridge, and its neighbors throughout Summit County, comprise a major outdoor recreation center, with skiing in winter, and fishing, hiking, and mountain biking in summer. But the area actually offers much more, with a number of historical attractions, good shopping opportunities, a number of fine restaurants, and some interesting places to stay.
