  • Rock out to summer concerts in the original Surf City (though Santa Cruz disputes that claim).
  • Head out to the 1,800-foot-long pier to watch toned and tanned surfers. Most men wear wetsuits, while women board in bikinis.
  • Pedal along the bike path from Huntington to the bird sanctuary at Bolsa Chica Wetlands.
  • Body surf, boogie board, or build a castle on wide, white sands.
  • Claim a fire ring early in the day to roast hot dogs and s'mores. Huntington is one of few beaches where you can still enjoy a fire.
