Bermuda Windsurfing Travel Tips

  • Though the local windsurfing rental gear may not be the most modern or pristine, don't bother bringing your own board to Bermuda: Tourists are not allowed to rent cars and buses and taxis won't transport boards.
  • When booking your hotel, ask if they have windsurfing equipment and suitable spots to surf nearby. Most hotels include equipment for free in their room rates.
  • Windsurfers will want to visit Bermuda in the winter when winds are strongest. Summertime winds tend to be more listless.
  • Spots popular with local windsurfers include Shelly Beach and Achilles Bay.

  • Car seat for a 16 month old while in Bermuda? My husband and I are traveling to Bermuda with or 16month old. I am concerned about getting around the island via taxi. Although we do not plan on spending much time touring the island I am still concerned about her safety while transfering from the airport to the hotel and back. I am trying to avoid hauling the car seat with me. Any suggestions?
