Bermuda Snorkeling Travel Tips

  • Beachside hotels with water sport stands rent out snorkel gear to non-guests. Local concession vans rent gear as well and are often found at public beaches.
  • Although snorkeling is a year-round pursuit, Bermudan waters are calmest and warmest from May to October. Snorkelers usually wear wet suits in winter.
  • The south side of the island group is easiest and most accessible for snorkeling. The sheltered Church Bay on the southwest coast is a protected cove popular with snorkelers, with reefs that are fairly close to the pink sand beach found here.
  • Many of Bermuda's historic shipwrecks are shallow enough for snorkeling, including L'Herminie, Rita Zovetta, and Tauton.

  • Car seat for a 16 month old while in Bermuda? My husband and I are traveling to Bermuda with or 16month old. I am concerned about getting around the island via taxi. Although we do not plan on spending much time touring the island I am still concerned about her safety while transfering from the airport to the hotel and back. I am trying to avoid hauling the car seat with me. Any suggestions?
