  • Summer in Sydney (November to February) sees steady northeasterly winds of around 15 knots, blowing over the region, while southeasterly winds dominate the rest of the year.
  • One of the best flat-water places to windsurf in Sydney is Botany Bay, south of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Two runways from the airport extend into the bay, making for a dramatic aerial background.
  • Narrabeen Lakes, north of Sydney, is recommended for beginners since it is a shallow and contained area.
