  • The west side of Aruba boasts nine named beaches.
  • Rest up at Sonesta Island, a 40-acre retreat with hidden coves, designated swimming areas, and pure white sand lined with shady palms.
  • Respect the "dress" code while sunning at resorts; less is more at quiet beaches along the northeast coast, as long as you don't mind the occasional horseback tour.
  • Test your surf skills on the east side of the island at Dos Playa, but only if you can handle serious waves.
